Live from Hong Kong, it’s Sunday morning!

May 10, 2008

After 27 hours of traveling, we landed in Hong Kong last night just after 7 p.m., or 7 a.m. EST. For most of the group, it is the first time any of them have traveled at such great distance internationally — definitely to the other side of the world!

We met at Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport at the ripe hour of 5:30 a.m. (May 9). I came to find out that many of the industrial design students had yet to sleep a wink by the time they arrived at the airport because they’d been up the entire night working on their VTech presentations.

Despite the sleep deprivation already in progress, and the leisurely six-hour layover in Newark (who knew Gate C was so exciting?), I met many smiling faces head on when we boarded the flight for Hong Kong. Below, Drew Dapore shows his enthusiasm for the 15-hour flight ahead.

Drew is ready to GET THERE! More images and accounts to come! We leave for the Mid-levels portion of Hong Kong in 30 minutes.

Hong Kong or bust!
